Geberit launch bathroom products as BIM objects

Geberit is one of the first HVAC suppliers in the Nordics to produce BIM objects for Revit. Almost all of their bathroom products and HVAC systems are included in their range of objects. 

Geberit is the European market leader of installation systems, cisterns, flushing systems, sewer and water systems and provides high-tech solutions for the HVAC industry. Launching this extensive range of products as BIM objects is a key part of their goal to simplify the planning process for Geberit customers.

- Today we release 80 percent of our products as BIM objects which, for architects, plumbing consultants and structural engineers, will reduce their work when they design our products into their projects, says Fredrik Färjh, CEO of Geberit Sweden.

As a first step Geberit is providing BIM objects to Sweden and the Nordics but with the Revit files in English they can be easily modified for additional markets in the future. By making Geberit products available as BIM objects the planning and design process becomes much easier for architects, HVAC installers and engineers as everyone is given access to the same information and planning tools. When replacing components you can get an exact bill of materias with a simple click. If you then change the product or changing a water or sewer pipe, you can clearly see how this affects other parts of the construction process, and these items can serve as a basis for collision checks at a later stage. The objects contain replaceable flush buttons, adjustable mounting heights, materials and MEP connections.
