Youth Publisher relocates to Scottish Highlands

Bombadil Publishing is a youth-to-youth publisher, publishing the stories and sharing the dreams of young people around the world. All their authors are below 26, and editors have been replaced by mentors with a passion for books, stories and creativity.

Moving headquarters from Sweden to Scotland, Bombadil Publishing is welcoming its staff from the United States, India and around Europe, to Dornie, a small village in the Scottish Highlands near the awe-inspiring Isle of Skye and the majestic Eilean Donan Castle. What place could be better positioned to inspire young writers across the world to put pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard and deliver their masterpieces to the world. The importance of the location cannot be said more eloquently than by author Emma Caganic, 22, whose book will be released in October: "When I write I get my inspiration from the nature, the silence, a fresh wind and a view that is remarkable. I feel a beat going through my writing soul when I see the view of Bombadil’s new office in the Scottish Highlands. Amazing."

Michael Russell MSP for Argyll & Bute said: “I am glad to see a young people’s publisher with an interesting new business model moving into Scotland and I am sure that the Highlands will benefit greatly from such new creative jobs”.

A further warm welcome was extended by Neil Francis, International Ops Director, Scottish Enterprise who said: “We are delighted that Bombadil Publishing has decided to relocate to Scotland, we wish them every success.”

Bombadil Publishing’s manuscript platform has been almost two years in the making, and will be launched in stages from the new year, but on the 2nd of October a website remake and the new shop will be launched, followed by further exciting features over the next year and onwards.

At the moment books are published in English, Spanish and Swedish but we are pleased to announce that Gaelic will be added posthaste.
