As an official sponsor of the Falcons, Complete One pay close attention to the club's results. They were delighted this week when the Falcons secured a last-gasp victory in the Heineken Champions Cup against Montpellier.

Substitute, Callum Chick scored an 89th minute try to give the Falcons a dramatic late victory. Managing Director at Complete One, Glen Lowes was inspired by the result to host a company-wide workshop.

Newcastle-based Complete One host weekly educational and motivational workshops, designed to help their workforce learn, grow and develop. During the hour-long workshop, Mr. Lowes explained the lessons the firm's workforce could take from the Falcons late victory.

1/ Play until the time runs out

With the clock in the red and time rapidly running out, Newcastle Falcons displayed incredible fight and desire to score a last-minute try. The result leaves the Falcons top of pool five after two rounds of games. Mr. Lowes believes that mentality can be transferred into business. ‘Everyone has the same 24 hours in their day, it’s how they choose to use that time that determines the results,' commented Mr. Lowes. The business owner argues that people need to give it 100% all day until they clock off.

2/ Team spirit

It was an individual effort from Callum Chick that secured the victory for the Newcastle Falcons; however, the team spirit that the Falcons have developed is integral to their ability to keep going and fighting till the end. At Complete One they believe that a strong team spirit is critical to success. ‘Working autonomously is important; however, the ability to work cohesively as a unit is pivotal,’ stated Mr. Lowes.

3/ Winning Mentality

The Newcastle Falcons have been a surprise package in the Heineken Champions Cup. The team secured a surprise 26-25 victory over three-time champions Toulon in the opening game. They don’t know when they are beaten, and they keep fighting with the belief that they can overcome any challenge to win. Mr. Lowes argues that developing a winning mentality is critical in business.

Mr. Lowes believes that there are many transferable skills between business and sports and the business owner is thrilled to be an official sponsor of the Falcons and hopes to see the side have a fantastic season.
