Press release -

The British Tourism & Travel Show opens registration for 2018

Free visitor registration for British Tourism & Travel Show 2018, which returns to the NEC Birmingham on 21-22 March, is now open.

According to Mintel, domestic tourism rose by 8.5% in 2016[1] – valued at around £127 billion[2], this thriving sector is continuing to grow and prosper. The British Tourism & Travel Show offers the perfect opportunity for top-level travel buyers to meet with the most popular visitor attractions, venues, destinations, hotels, transport providers, associations and DMOs in the UK and Ireland – helping to shape the future of domestic tourism.

“Major trade shows are the lifeblood of the tourism industry and the British Tourism & Travel Show is the flagship event in the annual calendar,” says Chris Wales, chief executive of Coach Tourism Association.

“This is my favourite show, which I attend each year without fail. It’s the best travel trade show, packed full of inspiration, new products and you even get to listen and engage with guest speakers. The two days enables you to speak to many suppliers and attractions in person and I always come away with exciting new ideas for tours,” says Joanna Watson, manager at Rondo Travel.

The 2017 event welcomed 2,606 attendees, including some of the UK and Ireland’s biggest domestic tour operators, coach operators, travel organisers and agents from: Acorne, Albatross Travel Group, British Airways Holidays, Daily Mail Travel, David Urquhart Travel, Great Rail Journeys, Heritage Railway Industry, JAC Travel, Johnsons Coach Travel, Kuoni Group Travel Experts, London Tourist Coach Operators Association, Marchants Coaches, National Holidays, Newmarket Holidays, Rondo Travel, Saga Holidays, Shearings Holidays, Titan Travel, Travelzoo, Virgin Trains, and Woods Travel.

“A truly excellent way of meeting those involved in travel tourism in one place with a great atmosphere. I will encourage our members to attend in 2018,” says Peter Bradley, director of administration and development at London Tourist Coach Operators Association.

250+ exhibitors

Looking ahead to 2018, the latest exhibitors to join the line-up include Royal Botanic Gardens – Kew, Belvoir Castle, Jurys Inn, Cairn Hotel Group, Bodleian Libraries, Llangollen Railway, and Abbot Travel – who are all preparing to showcase their latest attractions, tour and corporate packages, visitor initiatives and incentives. They’ll be joining returning big-names like Albatross Travel Group, Visit Cornwall, Hilton Worldwide, Warner Leisure Hotels, Visit Lincoln, Greatdays Travel Group, and Eurotunnel Le Shuttle.

“Meeting both existing customers and forging new relationships, the show is the most important platform for us to launch. It’s also an opportunity to gather intelligence from both clients and suppliers as to how the industry as a whole is performing, and face to face time continues to be important in this industry,” says Martin Slater, national sales manager at Greatdays Travel Group.

New – Destination Europe

Building on its success and responding to the industry’s growth; the show has launched a new Destination Europe area, which will appeal to key decision makers who plan and book itineraries for both international and domestic tourists. It will feature diverse attractions, destinations and hotels across Europe, and will provide ideas and inspiration for a variety of British travel trade buyers who attend the show. Latest exhibitors to join the area include Dutch Cruise Lines, Lovers Canal Cruises, and Choice Hotels Europe.
