Press release -

BT Sport to exclusively show UEFA European Under-21 Championships

BT Sport will show all 15 matches exclusively live from this summer’s UEFA European Under-21 Championship in June.

The 2015 tournament takes place in the Czech Republic from Wednesday, June 17 to Tuesday, June 30 featuring Premier League and future global stars and will be exclusively live on BT Sport. With only eight teams competing, beginning with two group stages featuring four teams each, viewers will be able to watch England doing battle against Italy, Portugal and Sweden.

Gareth Southgate’s men will be heading to Czech Republic with a strong team and confidence will be high after qualifying unbeaten, including a play-off against Croatia over two legs. The other remaining teams in the competition – the Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark and Serbia – could lie in wait for England if they qualify from the group stages.

The under-21 manager and former England defender Southgate will hope to call on Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane, West Bromwich Albion’s Saido Berahino and Burnley’s Danny Ings, who have already managed 40 goals between them so far in the Premier League this season.

All of the matches from the competition will be shown, including England’s games against Portugal on Thursday, June 18, against Sweden on Sunday, June 21 and their final group game against Italy on Wednesday, June 24. Both semi-finals will be shown on Saturday, June 27 before the final on Tuesday, June 30.

Simon Green, sports channel director at BT Sport, said: “The UEFA Under-21 Championships are always one of the highlights of international football with the future stars on show. It’s always fantastic to see who could go on to win future international tournaments and who has the best young players coming through and I’m sure this tournament will be no different. Fans of football will be eager to see how England get on against the European elite, exclusively live on BT Sport.”
