BT SPORT TO SHOW INDIANAPOLIS 500 LIVE ON TV AND ONLINE

BT Sport will be shining the spotlight on F1 driver Fernando Alonso as he attempts to win the second leg of the historic “triple crown” in the 101st Indianapolis 500 (Indy500) race this weekend.

Starting on Sunday, 28 May, the race will be broadcast in full, as well as featuring an exclusive interview with Fernando Alonso ahead of the iconic oval race. Coverage will be anchored by Suzi Perry live from the BT Sport studios in London and will include expert analysis from British professional racing driver Mike Conway and top sports journalist, Richard Williams.

Having already won the Monaco Grand Prix, Alonso has set his sights on becoming only the second driver after the late Briton Graham Hill to win in Monaco, Indy and Le Mans.

Coverage of the race will start at 4.30pm live on BT Sport/ESPN, and will also be available on www.btsport.com or via the BT Sport app. BT Sport is showing every Indycar race throughout the 2017 season.

BT Sport’s coverage of the race is to be produced by independent company Whisper Films and will include insight from former F1 World Champions Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button.

Simon Green, head of BT Sport, said: “Motor racing fans across the world are intrigued to see how the world class Fernando Alonso will fare against his more experienced Indycar competitors. Led by Suzi Perry, our team will provide live expertise and analysis on one of the most iconic races on the global motorsport calendar.
