BT Sport to simulcast NBA Global Games London 2017 live on Facebook and Freeview

BT Sport is to simulcast NBA Global Games London 2017, featuring the Denver Nuggets and Indiana Pacers on January 12, live to fans across the UK on BT Sport’s Facebook page, on the BT Sport Showcase channel (BT TV and Freeview channel 59) and via Virgin Media channel 548.

It is the first time an NBA game will be shown live on Facebook in the UK.

Fans will be able to watch the game live from The O2 arena in London on Facebook beginning at 8pm GMT, in addition to BT Sport’s live TV coverage at the same time on BT Sport 2 (HD).The Facebook stream will feature the league’s “NBA Mobile View” feed, delivering a closer shot of the action optimised for viewing on the smaller screens of tablets and phones.

BT Sport’s Facebook live stream will also be shared on the NBA’s Facebook page in the UK.

BT Sport, the NBA and Facebook previously combined to deliver fans the “BT Sport Facebook Lounge” at NBA Global Games London 2015, which featured a range of interactive live appearances from special guests attending the game.

Last year, BT Sport, the NBA and Rogers teamed up to broadcast NBA Global Games London 2016 in 4K, marking the first publicly available NBA game in 4K. The NBA became the first U.S. professional sports league to capture a game in 4K when the league hosted a viewing party at The O2 during NBA Global Games London 2015.

BT Sport broadcasts up to seven live NBA games per week throughout the regular season, including a full slate of games in primetime in the UK as part of the NBA Sundays campaign.
