Adamski brings ‘killer’ Valentine event to Bury Art Museum

Chart-topper Adamski is playing the music at a Valentine’s night of art and entertainment at Bury Art Museum. 

The Ivor Novello winning DJ will provide the accompaniment to the latest Dr Sketchy event (on Friday 14 February), where visitors make life drawings of models while enjoying music and a drink.

Dolly Tartan is coming all the way from Glasgow to pose in Marie Antoinette style costume, and she will be joined by the wonderful Scarlett Von Rouge.

Adamski is best known for his international No.1 smash “Killer” featuring Seal and his major role in the rave explosion of the late 1980s and early 90s.

He has now introduced a new music concept of 3STEP, a 21st century update of the waltz (the original dance underground of 18th century Europe) with a distinctive 3/4 tempo but now incorporating elements of contemporary music.

Adamski’s presence in the global fashion and music scene has recently included playing at Vivienne Westwood’s parties in Vienna and London, music for Bernhard Willhelm’s show in La Louvre, the Guidi party at Silencio, Paris and DJ shows in Moscow, Ibiza and the best of British Summer Festivals. His recent collaborators have been the legendary Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry (Bob Marley’s main producer) and Italian controversial actress Asia Argento.

The event is suitable for adults, and starts at 8pm.

The gallery’s Lee Crocker said: “The Dr Sketchy concept started 12 years ago in New York and has since spread across the world. I’ve known Adamski for many years, and I’m delighted he’s accepted my invitation to DJ here in Bury.

“Creating a vibrant arts scene in Bury is very important; it is very healthy at the moment, and I’d like to thank the local companies who are helping us on the night –The Met and Tourist Information Centre for ticket sales, Automatic for doing the bar, and Mainline Show Productions in Radcliffe who are providing the sound equipment.”
