Artists’ invitation to hear about Lancashire folklore
Bury Art Museum and Sculpture Centre is inviting residents to meet five artists featured in its Lancashire folklore exhibition “The King of the Cats”.
The event takes place on Wednesday 18 February (10.30am to noon) and features a mixture of live storytelling, talk, audio, discussion and shared stories with Jacqueline Harris.
This will be followed by a Q&A with the artists - Christopher Rainham, Marjan Wouda, Jacqueline Harris, Julie Miles and Patricia Ramsden - who have been inspired to create art work for the exhibition.
Visitors can immerse themselves in stories of the shape shifters and supernatural visitors that inspired the exhibition, and listen to recordings of new folktales and stories that are being told in Lancashire today.
The exhibition includes visitor activities for all ages, including opportunities to contribute your own local story, and accompanying workshops.
Tickets are £10 (free for under-16s) and £5 for students with a valid student ID.
Bury Art Museum is located on Moss Street next to bus and tram interchange and opposite the Fusilier Museum.
