Bury Council elections - candidates announced
A total of 83 candidates are standing in the Bury Council elections which take place on Thursday 7 May.
One-third of the council’s 51 seats will be decided at this poll. Labour, Conservative, Green, and UKIP are contesting all 17 seats. The Liberal Democrats are standing in 13 wards, and there is also one Independent and one English Democrat.
The local elections take place on the same day as the General Election, and the polls are open from 7am to 10pm.
Residents have until 20 April to make sure they are on the electoral register and entitled to vote. Anyone who wishes to register should go tohttps://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
