Press release -
Bury’s schools are just champion
Bury has topped the North West league for pupils who attend good or outstanding secondary schools.
The annual report from education watchdog Ofsted shows that 95% of Bury students attend high schools rated in the top two categories; the highest rate in the region, and joint 13th best in the country.
Councillor Gill Campbell, Bury’s cabinet member for children and families, said: "To be ranked top of the North West for good and outstanding secondary schools is a real piece of Christmas cheer. Ofsted's report shows that young people enjoy an excellent education in Bury, which is down to the hard work of staff and the students themselves. We are very proud of them all."
