Celebrate Bury’s sporting heroes and heroines
Nominations are being sought for Bury’s annual celebration of sporting excellence, the Bury 2016 Sports Awards.
The awards are organised by Bury Sport and Physical Activity Service. The champions will be presented with their awards at a local ceremony (details to be announced) and the winners of the first six categories will represent Bury at the Greater Manchester Awards on 4 November 2016 at Lancashire County Cricket Club.
This year’s event is being sponsored by I Will If You Will (IWIYW), the Bury-based fitness movement delivered by Bury Council with National Lottery funding from Sport England.
You can nominate individuals and groups in the following categories:
- Volunteer of the year
- Coach of the year
- Sports achiever of the year
- Disabled achiever of the year
- Club of the year
- Unsung hero of the year
- Changing lifestyle recognition award
- IWIYW sporting female of the year
- Primary school special recognition award
- Secondary school special recognition award
The deadline for nominations is midnight Sunday 14 August 2016.
