Press release -

Come and Bee part of Bury Light Night!

Bury will be truly buzzing at the fifth annual family fun extravaganza that is Bury Light Night – on Friday 16 October.

There’s a definite focus on busy bees this year, with a variety of interactive events on the theme of this most industrious and essential of workers.

Visitors can expect the usual wide range of dancing, storytelling, lights and music, bringing the town centre alive through arts and culture.

Performances will be held at venues across the town - from The Met to the Mill Gate, The Rock to Castle Armoury and Bury Art Museum – from 6pm until late against a backdrop of lit-up buildings.

Please remember: there will be temporary road closures and parking restrictions in Bury town centre during this event. Why not come to Bury Light Night by bus or tram?

Just a handful of the event highlights:

  • Bury will be buzzing at a range of bee-themed projections from Illuminos – at the Castle Armoury, Church Gardens (opposite the Fusilier Museum), and at Debenhams on The Rock.

  • Music from The Ambition, Whalley Range All Stars and Mr Butler and the Medicine Band – opposite Frankie and Benny’s, The Rock.
  • The Big Bury Firewalk, and Dancing in the Street – on The Rock
