Conservatives win Ramsbottom by-election

The Conservatives won last night’s (Thursday 6 March) by-election in Ramsbottom which was held following the resignation of Labour councillor Joanne Columbine.

The result:

  • Dave Barker (UK Independence Party)…..351
  • David Foss (Liberal Democrats)…..38
  • Glyn Heath (The Green Party)…..157
  • Robert Hodkinson (The Conservative Party Candidate)…..1,398
  • Sarah Southworth (Labour Party Candidate)…..1,033

Turnout was 32.56%. The line-up on Bury Council is now: Labour 35 seats, Conservatives 13, Liberal Democrats 2, and Independent 1.
