Discover ‘what lurks beneath’ in Chapelfield Nature Reserve

Families are invited to take part in pond-dipping sessions at Chapelfield Local Nature Reserve on Wednesday 5 and 12 August.

Join Paul Robinson, Bury’s Local Nature Reserves Officer, in finding out what min-beasts are lurking beneath the surface of the lodge, including snails, frogs, tadpoles, water-beetles and sticklebacks.

Paul said: “Pond-dipping is a fantastic way to introduce children to the wildlife in their local area and in some cases in their own gardens. Ponds are vital habitats for frogs, toads, dragonflies, damselflies and many other animals.”

Both sessions take place from 1.30pm to 2.30pm. It’s free to take part, and all equipment is provided, but places are limited and all children must be accompanied by an adult. To book, call Paul on 0161 253 7668.
