Press release -

Forum meeting to hear about bins changes

Upcoming changes to household waste collections will be discussed by Whitefield and Unsworth Township Forum on Thursday 2 October.

Council recycling officers will give a presentation on the new rotas, which are due to start in the second week of October.

Also high on the agenda is a report on the Healthier Together plans, which aim to improve services
provided at GP surgeries, in the community and in hospital. Representatives from NHS Bury Clinical Commissioning Group will outline the proposals and gather feedback from local residents.

There will also be an update on the local Township Plan, following round table discussions held in July, on what should be the priorities for Whitefield and Unsworth.

The meeting will include updates from the police and on funding issues, and residents can announce details of community events taking place in the area.

As ever, there will be the usual open forum for residents to raise any matters of concern and ask questions.

The meeting takes place at Elms Community Centre in Whitefield, starting at 6.30pm.

For further details contact Ruth Shedwick, township co-ordinator, on 0161 253 5327 or r.shedwick@bury.gov.uk
