Free family fun road shows – and a chance to win prizes, too!

Two family fun and neighbourhood road shows are being held in Radcliffe and Bury, and all are invited.

Organised by Bury Council and its Team Bury partners, the #Love Radcliffe event takes place on Saturday 1 October (11am-4pm) at Bolton Road Park, while the #Love Bury East event is on Saturday 17 September at Openshaw Park (11am–4pm).

The aim is to promote the range of local services available, and to find out what residents think about their local area. In fact, if you give us your views, you’ll be entered into a draw to win £200 of shopping vouchers!

Residents will also be invited to vote for their favourite community project at ‘The Pitch’, Bury’s own Dragon’s Den. Community projects will be given the opportunity to win up to £1,000 of funding for projects that will make a difference to their local area.

Among the fun events on the two big days are: music, entertainment and face painting; a children’s play area; street soccer; Army assault course; Knit & Natter groups; free food taster sessions; and lots of stalls offering interactive advice and support about local services.

Budding Mary Berrys can also bring along their home-made cake for judging by the Mayor of Bury, Councillor Mike Connolly.

Cllr Tamoor Tariq, cabinet member for communities and safer neighbourhoods, said: “This is a great opportunity for residents to come along, have some fun and find out more about local services. We’re looking at how we work with local neighbourhoods and we want residents to tell us more about what they think about their local area. I hope residents will take this opportunity to come along and enjoy what is sure to be a day of fabulous family fun.”

There’s no need to book – just turn up on the day.
