Go online to buy local works of art

A new online shopping site for art lovers is now live, featuring a rich and diverse range of work created by local artists.

Bury Art Museum is among those behind the site, set up by the Greater Manchester Museums Group (GMMG).

Drawing inspiration from natural history, Egyptology, and East Asian to textile collections, the result is a unique collection of quality products showcasing an eclectic mix of hand-craft and print techniques.

GMMG worked with seven local artists to create products for their online shopping site. These include letterpress and hand-painted cards and prints, papercut prints, pocket mirrors, colouring books for adults, wrapping paper and a range of greeting cards.

Richard Bealing, chair of GMMG, said: “Combining the collections with the talents of local artists shows that the old and the new can go really well together. I’m confident that people online will find these creations as interesting and as exciting as I do.”

The online shopping site is at: http://shop.gmmg.org.uk
