Press release -

Have your say on parking plans for Prestwich

A proposal to create two-hour limited parking in Prestwich town centre is now formally out for public consultation.

Bury Council wants to introduce short-stay parking on Clifton Road car park as part of wider measures to help local businesses, who are concerned that customers are unable to find a parking space due to workers leaving their cars there all day.

Parking would remain free of charge, but be limited to a maximum of two hours. Drivers would need to put a parking ticket on their windscreen so that the amount of time they park there can be monitored.

The proposal has now been advertised in the local press and notices posted at the site. Residents and businesses now have the opportunity to voice their opinions – the consultation period is open until 18 December 2014.

Comments can be sent to traffic@bury.gov.uk quoting ref: TM2/14
