I Will if You Will announces prize-winner

The prize draw winner from the recent I Will if You Will get-together at The Rock, Bury is Thais Goncalves, originally from Brazil.

Thais was presented with her prize, a six-month membership for two with ten personal training visits at The Village Urban Resort, by I Will if You Will community activator Maria Folan and Village Leisure Club manager Matt Smith.

Thais entered the draw when she came across the get-together at St John’s Square on Saturday 18 January. Presented by Michelle Livsey of Key 103 and taking in a whole host of goings-on, the get-together was a huge hit with thousands of shoppers throughout the day and hundreds of women and girls were inspired to make a pledge to be more active and enter the free prize draw.

Thais said: “I think the I Will if You Will movement is really good because it’s important for women and girls to be more active. I usually go swimming 2-3 times a week but I can’t wait to make use of my prize and try something new at The Village – I’ve pledged to try dance fitness.

“This prize is just the incentive I need and I’ve joined up with my boyfriend so he can encourage me. We’re going to give it a go together. “

Village Leisure Club manager Matt Smith said: “Whether you want to work out or chill out, at Village Urban Resort in Bury you can do both. For those that want a bit of ‘me time’, we have the Viva Urban Spa. For the more energetic we have our high-tech health and fitness suite with gym, fitness classes and swimming pool.

“We’re really happy to be supporting the I Will if You Will movement and we hope Thais and her boyfriend very much enjoy their free membership.”

I Will If You Will is a movement to get the women and girls of Bury moving. With National Lottery funding from Sport England and being launched by Bury Council, it’s about women getting together and trying something new, doing something for themselves for a change and having a laugh while they do it.

Lots of help and advice for Bury ladies who want to get moving is available at http://www.iwillifyouwill.co.uk/ along with all the latest news, what’s going on near you and how you can get involved.
