Join the Holiday Camp for a summer of sporting activities

Young people are invited to take part in a five-week extravaganza of sport and activities known as the Summer 2016 Holiday Camp.

Delivered by qualified coaches, the camp is open to youngsters aged between 9 and 14 and will run at Castle Leisure Centre in Bury from 26 July to 26 August.

Sports offered include football, netball, trampolining, volleyball, cricket, dodgeball, basketball, athletics, ultimate Frisbee and rollerskating.

The sessions have been organised by Bury Sport and Physical Activity Service and Bury Leisure, and take place every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday for five weeks from 9am to 5pm.

Councillor Trevor Holt, cabinet member for health and wellbeing, said: “This is a fantastic course for young people, giving them a chance to experience a huge variety of sports and improve their skills. We all know how important it is for young people to be active from an early age, and if they can do that while having fun, making new friends and learning new skills, then that’s perfect.”

The cost is £17 per session or £12.75 using a Discount Card, and all equipment will be provided.

Bookings can be made online at www.bury.gov.uk/buryleisure-bookings or phone 0161 253 7000.
