Press release -

Let’s read together and inspire our children’s imagination

Parents are invited to share the joy of reading with their young children at a session held at Prestwich Library on Monday 13 February.

This Booktime initiative shows parents how to help youngsters to follow words in story books and sound out the words as your child recognises the letters.

Research shows that children who regularly share reading with their parents become confident readers, with a wide vocabulary and knowledge, and have their imaginations inspired.

The Prestwich session runs from 4.30pm to 6pm and is for children of reception class age and their carers.

Every child will receive a reading pack to take home, which includes two new books.

The cost is £2 per child, and places are limited. To reserve your place, call Prestwich Library on 0161 253 7214.
