Local charities benefit from Mayor’s latest fund-raiser

Three charities have drawn a winning ticket thanks to a Christmas tombola and book sale held by the Mayor of Bury, Councillor Dorothy Gunther.

The event was held at the Bury Tesco superstore, when prizes, books and DVDs donated by local businesses and individuals were won and sold.

More than £200 was raised, and this will now go to the mayor’s charities: Bury Hospice, Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary and the RNLI.
