Made in Bury – rewarding our community heroes

Outstanding individuals and groups will receive a big ‘thank you’ in the 2nd annual Made in Bury community awards.

Residents are being asked to nominate their community champions, and the winners will presented with their certificates at the annual meeting of Bury Council on Tuesday 3 June.

There are three categories:

* Outstanding Contribution to a Township (single award)

* Young Person and/or Young Person’s Group – outstanding community contribution (25 or under)

* Volunteer of the Year Award

All nominees must live, work, study or volunteer within the borough of Bury.

The deadline for nominations is Friday 9 May, and the decisions will be made by a judging panel chaired by Councillor Sandra Walmsley, cabinet member for communities and community safety.

Cllr Walmsley said: “We all know people who make an outstanding contribution to their area, and it’s only right that we publicly thank them for their commitment and achievements. Please let us know who you think is most deserving of a Made in Bury award.”
