Prize occasion for young Big Friendly Read winners

Nearly 1,000 youngsters took part in the Summer Reading Challenge Big Friendly Read throughout Bury Libraries.

This is a national reading campaign aimed at reducing the dip in reading over the summer holidays. All those who read six books were entered into a draw to win prizes including a Kindle Fire, sets of Roald Dahl books, book tokens and a voucher kindly donated by Tesco Prestwich.

Prizes were presented at Ramsbottom Library on October 3 by assistant librarian Sarah Howell, and some winners even took the opportunity to borrow more library books while they were there.

Press release issued: 4 October 2016.
