STAR employees who really make a difference

Do you know someone or a group of people who work or volunteer for Bury Council who have gone that extra mile?

If so, you can nominate them for the council’s annual Special Thanks And Recognition (STAR) awards.

There is an award for Individual Employee of the Year and Team of the Year in each of the council’s three departments. There is also a team award for the Partnership Team of the Year and awards for Volunteer and Learner of the Year.

The most prestigious award to be given out is the Mike Kelly Employee of the Year Award, named after the previous chief executive of Bury Council.

Previous winners include social care staff, sports volunteers, youth workers and also a ‘lollipop lady’.
