Win family ticket for Pirates Adventure with Bury’d Treasure

Children and families have been hunting for ‘Bury’d Treasure’ this summer as part of a new pirate-themed family adventure game happening across Bury.

Launched by Bury Council in partnership with the I Will If You Will (IWIYW) campaign, Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) and 15 primary schools, the initiative aims to get children and families walking or cycling while searching for clues to solve puzzles that may win them a prize.

To join in, participants must register at the Bury’d Treasure website burydtreasure.org.uk and then enter their answers to the puzzles via the website or the Bury’d Treasure app, to be entered into a weekly draw to win a selection of prizes.

Paul Wilcock, local father of two, said: We had a great afternoon together as a family. The kids had their maps and ran around the park solving the puzzles and playing their own pirate games for fun. As a parent this kind of activity over the summer is exactly what we are after.”

Councillor Trevor Holt, first deputy and cabinet member for health and wellbeing at Bury Council, said of Bury’d Treasure: “We are so pleased with how successful it’s been. It’s been great to hear about and see photos of families using their local park spaces to solve clues, have fun as a family and create memories.”

Participants now have the chance to win a Family ticket for the East Lancashire’s Railway, ‘The Pirates Adventure’ on 18 August. The winning family will get to experience the fun of the steam train along with pirate themed activities.

To enter the competition entrants must be registered with and have taken part in Bury’d Treasure and complete an online survey. T&C’s can be found on www.iwillifyouwill.co.uk/news/2016/08/piratecompetition/ Competition closes midnight on 15 August.
