How food marketing fools consumers

Compassion in World Farming asked Catsnake to create a video that would inform the audience about the hard truths of factory farming that would provoke anger in the audience and spark a wider debate about the importance of animal welfare. At the Yard theatre in Hackney Wick a food marketer Katie Cooper, played by actress Katie Miles enthuses about the ways in which the food trade successfully hides the truth about animal welfare from the public. Whilst Katie is an actress the facts about produce and marketing are 100% real, as well as the audiences reactions.
To date the video has received over 5 million views on YouTube. Also, the film has been featured on Upworthy twice and in the UK and international press, and shared over 10,000 times on Facebook and Twitter; most notably by Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul.
