CBRE Hotels EMEA completes sale of site of Hilton Southwark Hotel, London
Apr 03, 2012 08:34 BSTCBRE Hotels EMEA are delighted to announce the sale of the above site situated in the booming Bankside area of Southwark and which upon completion is scheduled to become the Hilton Southwark Hotel.
Work has already commenced on site and the ground works will shortly be completed to slab. When open, this prestigious hotel development project will boast 281 luxurious, 5 star bedrooms, together with a large and spectacular Ballroom and Health and Leisure club.
The property was purchased for an undisclosed figure by Mr Shiraz Boghani, (one of the Partners responsible for initiating the project) who emerged as the successful bidder in a formal tender process managed by CBRE Hotels EMEA.
Scheduled to open in Q4, 2013 the hotel will be managed by Hilton Hotels.
The opening of the Hilton Southwark Hotel will further fuel the extraordinary regeneration of the exciting Bankside area of Southwark, which is undergoing a renaissance and which next year will see the opening of the Shard of Glass, soon to be Europe’s tallest building.
Paul Bartrop of CBRE Hotels EMEA commented; “Everybody associated with the hospitality industry knows how robust the London hotel market has been over recent years. The sale of this important site illustrates the heat that exists in the market for new development opportunities and the demand over supply that we are seeing for substantial hotel sites in high profile, central locations”
