Aug 14, 2012 17:35 BST Newham has shown the largest increase in average rents across all London boroughs over the last year, new research from CBRE has revealed. Rents in Newham rose by 39 per cent to nearly £1,700 per month. The borough came ahead of the City of London, which recorded strong growth of nearly 32 per cent, partly reflecting a small number of exclusive new penthouses, which raised the overall average.

Aug 06, 2012 10:57 BST Despite the prospect of higher tuition fees, the UK Higher Education system remains hevily oversubscribed and new development of halls has not kept pace with the growth in students. There is still headroom in the student housing market nationally, especially in London, although we expect to see some localised reductions in student numbers in some towns.
