STAR IN YOUR OWN EPIC ADVENTURE EXPLORING ‘THE GREAT WALL’ WITH CHAPTERS EXPERIENCE HOLIDAYS

Gracing UK cinema screens this Friday, China’s most expensive movie ever made - the long-awaited Chinese-Hollywood epic ‘The Great Wall’, is set to enthrall viewers with an action packed mythological tale centred around the Great Wall of China during the Song Dynasty.

Based on the legend of the Taotie, the movie explores elements of China’s ancient culture and relationship with foreigners as played out by Matt Damon as a European Mercenary.

With the film set involving the building of three replica ‘Great Walls’, why not get your own epic experience of the real location on the Chapters Experience Holidays ‘Cities & Mountains of China’.

Exploring the many facets of Chinese culture and history, one of the highlights includes a half day visit to this magnificent World Heritage Site, uncovering the mysteries of the world’s longest wall and its construction which dates back to 220BC.

Other highlights on this 19 day journey include walking in the beautiful Huangshan Mountains; gazing at the 8000 strong Terracotta Warriors in Xian; a visit to the traditional ‘Water Town’ of Suzhou, known as the Venice of the East; the springs and temples of Hangzhou with allegedly the purest water in China; a stoll along the Bund in the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai; the UNESCO World Heritage listed Ming Tombs; Beijing’s main attractions - The Forbidden City, Temple to Heaven, The Great Hall of the People and Tian’anmen Square; and the opportunity to see ‘the real’ Taotie as portrayed on Chinese ritual bronze vessels.

Cities and Mountains of China 19-day holiday starts from £4,750/person including flights, accommodation, all meals, transfers, entrance fees, a tour leader and local guides. Departing 3 September 2017. Chapters Experience Holidays (01707 246666; chaptersholidays.co.uk).
