"The Walls Still Hold a Tune" Charity Fundraiser for Amnesty International is going to be held on Saturday the 21st of March, 7.30 PM at Fox and Newt, 9 Burley Street in Leeds.

It will be evening of fine rock music from Paul Miro, supported by Polly Phluid (Idol Dead) and Ultraxine, and will include "The Raffle of Rock", with all proceeds from both tickets sales and the raffle going to Amnesty International. The raffle prizes include signed rock memorabilia from The Dowling Poole, The Eureka Machines, Ginger Wildheart, CJ Wildheart, The Idol Dead and The Blacklist Saints, as well as some exclusive prints from Trudi Knight Photography and a large volume of Yorkshire Tea. Or, for one really 'lucky' winner, a meal cooked by Ultraxine.

"I've wanted to put on an event like this for a long time", says organiser Viktoria 'Taz' Joynes, who's a member of Ultraxine. "Amnesty International has been a charity close to my heart since I was a teenager, when I learned about the work that the charity were doing at that time to help street children in South America".

Explaining the decision to finally organise the event, and the reason behind the event's name, Taz says: "We had a really bad time as a band last year and had to cancel some long-planned recording. We were a bit miserable about it at first, but when we put it in perspective of world events, it didn't seem all that bad after all! So for us, "the walls still held a tune" - but we were aware that for many others that it might not feel like that. We wanted something positive to come out of our bad year, and we felt really strongly that we wanted to support a charity that was speaking out for people who were often overlooked or ignored - Amnesty was an obvious choice. We decided that now was a good time to gather some great musical talent and have a fun evening where money is raised for a good cause. Since we announced the event we've been absolutely overwhelmed by the support we've received from so many great musicians who have been willing to donate raffle items to help us raise as much money on the night as possible".

Tickets £7.50 (+ 0.75 booking fee) in advance, £10 on the door. Available here: https://www.wegottickets.com/event/304539
