Press release -

WellVet Weekend Returns! The sport and wellbeing event goes bigger and better for 2019.

The vision for WellVet Weekend is to create sport and wellbeing events which provides vets, vet nurses and anyone working within the veterinary profession the opportunity to recharge, refresh and re-energise. WellVet Weekend 2018 exceeded expectations with great feedback and comments from attendees such as “It was inclusive, fun, novel, reflective and allowed a community to share experiences in the flesh and make some wonderful memories.”

So, what does WellVet 2019 look like? The WellVet Energy stream promises lots of action with the Tour de Cambridge cycle ride and the WellVet sports day, whilst the WellVet Flexible stream includes HiiT (high-intensity interval training) sessions as well as some thought-provoking workshops delivered in collaboration with Vets: Stay, Go, Diversify (www.vsgd.co). The WellVet Mindful stream brings a mellow approach to the weekend with plenty of yoga and meditation alongside some reflective workshop-based sessions. The 2019 addition of the WellVet Family stream focuses on supporting new parents returning to practice and building mind and body confidence after welcoming a new addition to the family.

As well as the wide variety of sporting activities and workshops, there will be plenty of social time built in, including a fabulous gala dinner on Saturday night. The headline speaker is the amazing Jasmin Paris who will be delivering an unmissable speech – ‘The Mountains are calling, and so is the baby!’ Jasmin will talk about her incredible achievement in being the first woman (let alone vet) to win the Montane Spine Race which is widely regarded as one of the world’s toughest endurance races. Not only that, but she smashed the overall course record by over 12 hours!

WellVet Co-Founder, Liz Barton, says “We volunteer a great deal of time and energy to run these not-for-profit events, because of the positive impact it offers individuals. It makes it all worthwhile when we see life-changing experiences from the weekend carried forwards to improve the everyday lives of colleagues within the profession. It’s our way of giving something back. Tickets are subsidised thanks to our generous supporters, making them very affordable and meaning that delegates get a lot of content for their money”.

WellVet is excited to create a community which supports veterinary professionals to thrive. The WellVet Weekend is a very special concept with a core mission to make a long-lasting positive difference to those who attend.

Tickets are now available. For more information and to book your place at WellVet Weekend 2019, please visit www.wellvet.co.uk
