Dirty Water Club February: King Salami & The Cumberland 3, Harry Violet and the Sharks, Flood of Circle
King Salami and the Cumberland 3 are London's R&B-punk sensation are making fun times where ever they go. With a repertoire encompassing many of the greats of the ’50s and ’60s you won't be able to help but move your feet. The King howls like Screaming Jay Hawkins with Bo Diddley chasing his coat-tail and with Andre Williams trying to offer up some of his bacon fat. This man never stops shakin' and twistin' and groovin' while the Cumberland 3 (former members of the Ulcers, Chinese Lungs and Parkinsons) play their own branded mix of vintage rockabilly desperate rock'n'roll and a bit of soul with fire, energy, gusto and fun!
They play constantly all over Europe, sharing the stage with the Pretty Things, The Trashmen, The Standells, The Mummies, The Bellrays, The Cynics, etc...they have also despoiled the pristine lands of Japan, China, Australia and the US.
Harry Violet & the Sharks are a dark sax-driven rock & roll four-piece, crawling the streets of London, intent on mixing dive-bar jive and 12-bar rhythms with nightmarish grooves. The band started out playing raw and primitive versions of their favourite sounds of late-’50s and early-’60s rock & roll, surf and garage in London's dank basement clubs. This sound has been brewed up with the sound of madness and eclectic influences from The Cramps, The Lounge Lizards, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Tom Waits and the eccentricities of Joe Meek productions.
This, their debut 7” single, contains two original rock & roll numbers inspired by the wild and wacky adventures of Frank Buck and the dystopian youth madness of A Clockwork Orange.
A Flood Of Circle is a J-Rock group consisting of Ryousuke , Okaniwa Tadashi ,Yasushi Takashi Ishii and Watanabe Hazime . Formed in 2006 in Shimokitazawa, Japan, they signed to Loft Project’s CRUX sub-label and released their self-titled mini album in 2007. Heavily inspired by blues and ’70s hard rock they released their first full album BUFFALO-SOUL, in 2009 and are now one of the leading J-Rock bands in Japan.

The Dirty Water Club started in October 1996 in the Tufnell Park neighbourhood of north London, at a venue called The Boston. The club's name is derived from The Standells' 1966 hit 'Dirty Water' which glorifies the US city of Boston, Massachusetts.
Past performers have included The White Stripes (voted by Q Magazine as one of the top 10 gigs of all time, Mojo one of the top 30 and Kerrang one of the top 100!), The Gories, NOBUNNY, Kid Congo Powers (from the Cramps), The Fleshtones, Billy Childish, Radio Birdman, The Dirtbombs, Thee Michelle Gun Elephant, The 5.6.7.8's, The Horrors and The Brian Jonestown Massacre to name just a few. The club has also seen some original '60s performers, such as The Monks, ? and the Mysterians, Kim Fowley, Sky Saxon, GONN, Michael Davis of the MC5 and more grace its stage.
Their in-house record label, Dirty Water Records, is one of the leading garage/beat/(real) R&B labels in the world.
