UK "trash-bop-freak-a-billy" provocateurs Oh! Gunquit - on the heels of their excellent "Hot Cross Fun" cassette only E.P. - have unleashed more new material, this time in the shape of a lime green vinyl 7" single and features two tracks "Nomads of The Lost" and "Walking The Street" which was recorded with Producer Jim Diamond.

Tina (Vocals/Trumpet) & Simon (Guitar/Vocals) formed the band around the idea of creating a new and vibrant blend of Primitive Surf, Garage-Punk, Exotica & Rock'n'Roll. Oh! Gunquit are named in part to a town in Maine US which was an artists colony in the 1800's originally coined by the Abenaki Indians and also in part to the idea of all guns quitting

The North London quintet have released two sold-out limited 7" singles through Rough Trade on their own label, the second of which was ‘Single of the Week’ in Artrocker Magazine. In 2013 their track ‘Bad Bad Milk’ was released in Japan on garage-rock compilation featuring the band ‘5,6,7,8’s’ and in December 2014 the single ‘Sinkhole’ was released on One Little Indian Imprint -WINWIN Records. In March 2015 the band released their debut Album 'Eat Yuppies & Dance' on Dirty Water Records

The singles have all been played on BBC6 on shows such as Steve Lamacq, Gideon Coe, & Tom Ravenscroft with also plays on Huey Morgan’s BBC Radio 2 show. Live shows they have played include many events/festivals all over UK such as Field Day, Offset, Hop Farm, Hipsville, Franklin Fest and FarmFestival.

They have also performed shows for festivals & events in Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Portugal & Spain. The band have supported other acts such as Fat White Family, Public Service Broadcasting, Black Lips Producer King Khan & the Shrines (US), Andrew Weatherall, The Pandoras (US), Kinoco Hotel (Japan) & shows at the Danny Boyle curated Shuffle Film Festivals.

There is much more to this beat combo than just being a mash up of the Cramps and the B-52s although there are certainly parts of those bands sewn into Oh Gunquit's DNA. They're a refreshingly non-stop party of sound; a melting pot of rock n roll voodoo madness and pure unadulterated aural expression, perhaps the perfect soundtrack to a hedonistic roadtrip yet to be made.
