Scene1 Restaurant Re-Opens For Business

East Durham College is pleased to announce its fabulous restaurant, Scene1, is once again taking bookings for lunch and evening meals.

Now that the new academic year is once again in full swing Scene1 Restaurant, at the College’s Peterlee Campus, on Willerby Grove, will be open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday lunchtimes (12pm-2pm) and Wednesday and Thursday evenings (7pm-9pm) - from Wednesday 29th September 2010.

Tony Kelly, Curriculum Leader for Hospitality & Catering, said: “The restaurant is a really important aspect of the training our students’ receive. It ensures they get real live experience of serving and cooking for real paying customers.

“It’s great when the restaurant is full as it puts the students under real pressure and teaches them how to cope with it - and that’s vital experience in this industry.

“Dining at East Durham College may not be everyone’s obvious choice as a place to eat out but we are sure you will be very pleasantly surprised.”

The bistro style restaurant has a fully licensed bar and is a beautiful modern styled eatery. All the food is freshly prepared and made on the day, using high quality fresh local produce.

With a 3-course evening meal costing only £12.50, Scene1 really does offer fantastic value for money and the food is great too.

If you’d like to make a reservation please call Scene1 on 0191 518 8302/5588.
