Press release -

Southern Manufacturing returns – bigger than ever

Southern Manufacturing & Electronics returns to FIVE, Farnborough, on February 16th and 17th 2011. Additional floor area added for 2011 has already been filled as exhibitors clamour to be part of one of the UK’s most popular and enduring manufacturing shows.

Following another year of unprecedented demand, organisers, European Trade & Exhibition Services (ETES) have added a further 750m² of exhibition space for the 2011 show. Yet stand sales have continued at such a rate that even this extended area may not be enough to accommodate all the companies wishing to take part. Show Director, Phil Valentine, said, “Stand sales had already exceeded the final total for the 2010 event by mid-September. The 2011 show will be without doubt the biggest Southern Manufacturing we’ve ever staged.”

Along with its size, the major attraction of the show is the wide range of companies taking part, enabling visitors to meet an enormous range of suppliers in a single visit. Exhibitors are organised into specific areas, which makes it easy for visitors to find what they are looking for quickly and easily. A visitor at last year’s show, Mike Jones, General Manager of LPA Haswell Engineers, commented,  “The best aspect for me is that all the different elements that make up the manufacturing process are represented here under one roof. There aren't many opportunities like this and it's certainly a fantastic way of meeting new suppliers.”

Complementing the breath-taking array of industrial hardware on display – everything from live machinery demonstrations to consumables and components – the Southern Manufacturing show also hosts an extremely popular free seminar programme over both days of the event. Covering both business and technical topics, the programme is delivered by acknowledged experts in their fields and designed to be of practical benefit to anyone involved in manufacturing and industry. Last year saw several sessions oversubscribed by two or three times, despite both seminar rooms being enlarged. Open to both exhibitors and visitors, demand for places next year is expected to be even higher.

Entry to Southern Manufacturing & Electronics 2011 is completely free to business visitors, and FIVE Farnborough offers plentiful free car parking, superb access by road, rail or air, and an excellent selection of local hotels and restaurants to make your visit as enjoyable as it is productive.
