A new era for local hospice care

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to ellenor – I hope you like our new name and look as much as I do!

Our charity, formerly EllenorLions Hospices and chYps Children’s Hospice at Home, has been providing the best care and support to families facing life limiting and terminal illnesses for 30 years.

During the last 18 months we have been carefully reviewing our look to ensure we can raise funds to provide care to everyone who needs our support – people of all ages, from the very young to the very old.

The demand for our services has been rapidly increasing and will only continue to grow, so we need to be able to grow too.  We need to be there for all the families that will need us in the days and years to come, but that means we still depend on our supporters to guarantee that we can.

Moving forwards under one name is crucial for our future, and we believe this united approach will help to ease any confusion that once existed.

Our 24/7 care continues, and I am so very proud that we can offer our support absolutely free to the families who need our help.

However as a charity, not part of the NHS, this is not free to provide so we are hugely dependent on the kindness and generosity of our local community to be able to offer care in many different ways – which, 90 per cent of the time, is actually in a patient’s own home.

Now, more than ever, we hope individuals, clubs, groups and businesses will continue to show their support to ellenor, their local charity, so families can turn to us in their darkest hour.

On behalf of all the staff here at ellenor...thank you for being a part of our family.
