How will you grow your £50 for ellenor?

ellenor is looking for companies to take part in its 2017 Accumulator Challenge which is set to begin on 2 May. The concept is simple – the charity hands over a crisp £50 note and then there’s three months to grow that cash into as much as possible to support families facing terminal illness.

“We launched this last year and turned £600 into over £7000,” says Kate Barnes, Area Fundraising Manager. “In 2017 we want to make this even bigger and raise a significant sum to support our work. The 2016 winner, Baxall Construction, has sponsored the Accumulator Challenge this year, meaning we have up to £2000 to give away!”

The first Accumulator Challenge raised £7171 for ellenor, a figure that could pay for 233 hours of play therapy for the charity’s young patients and their siblings to help them understand the emotions they are experiencing.

Baxall Construction team members, winners of the 2016 Accumulator Challenge, really got into the competitive spirit and, between them, raised an incredible £3,684.79. They held a raffle, baked cakes, including birthday cakes made to order, held a football team scratch card competition, and had a raffle to win a gift card.

“Last year we have a variety of businesses taking part, from sports centres to banks and law firms to pubs, and we hope to welcome lots more this time around,” adds Kate. “It’s a real opportunity for companies to have fun as a team and get creative.”

All participants will be thanked and the winners will be crowned at an awards ceremony at the end of the challenge.
