UK drinks tech vendor Nexo wins IoT Product of the Year award at Computing Big Data Excellence Awards

London, UK, 17th May 2018 – The Nexo solution, from Elstat Limited, has won the ‘IoT Product of the Year’ award at this year’s prestigious Computing Big Data Excellence Awards, in London. Amongst stiff competition from diverse industrial solutions, Nexo stood out as the winner, for an entry that highlighted its ability to deliver sales-enhancing initiatives to food and drinks brands, whilst also responding to business-critical operational concerns.

For years, global food and drinks brands have used Elstat’s Energy Management Devices to intelligently manage the power consumed by their refrigerators (known in the industry as coolers). Now, by adding sensing technology to the devices, Nexo’s IoT solution has revolutionized the benefits coolers can bring for its customers.

Judges were presented with the commercial case for connecting Point of Sale assets. The Nexo solution incorporates a sophisticated Business Intelligence tool, Nexo Discovery, enabling enterprise managers to monitor and manage their refrigeration assets, at scale, from wherever they are in the world, and then distribute key information to employees in the field. Elstat has developed a cloud-based platform and an open architecture, allowing software and digital communication to be scaled and continually developed for customers.

The awards, which this year were bigger than ever with 18 prizes, recognise achievement across the world in the fields of Big Data and the Internet of Things, and were held at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London.
