How to Retrieve Deleted Text Messages on iPhone X/8/7/6/SE/5/4

Recover Deleted Messages Straight from iPhone

Step 1 – Download and install Enigma Recovery

From your laptop or computer, download the iPhone data recovery software Enigma Recovery. 

Step 2 – Connect iPhone

Connect your iPhone to the computer. You may want to use your USB charger cable.

Step 3 - Trust computer

Before you can continue with the software, please trust the computer with your iPhone.

Step 4 – Scan your iPhone device

Click onto the type of data you would like to recover from your phone – ‘Messages’.

Step 5 – Scan report

The scan report that appears after the iPhone scan will let you know how much data has been found on your device. Click the Messages tab to view recovered messages.

Now use the select boxes to collect the messages you would like to save and follow through with the ‘Export’ option.

How to Recover Deleted Messages from iTunes Backup File

Step 1 – Download and install Enigma Recovery

Download the Enigma Recovery tool to your computer and install it.

Step 2 - Recover from iTunes

On the left side menu, click on “Recover from iTunes Backup”.

Step 3 – Pick the backup file

At this point all the iTunes backup files will be available on the screen. Choose the one that contains the Messages that you wish to recover, and then hit the “Next” button.

Step 4 – Recover data

Choose what you wish to recover from the backup file. For recovering deleted iPhone messages, click on “Messages”. You can also choose to retrieve other types of data, or all of it.

Step 5 – View data

Wait for the software to extract the data from the backup file. By clicking on each type on data (on the left side bar) you can get a more detailed list of what it has been retrieved.

Step 6 – Extract data

Choose what you wish to transfer into your computer and then click on “Export”.

How to Recover Deleted Messages from iCloud Backup File

Step 1 – Open Enigma Recovery

Install the software on your computer and open it.

Step 2 – Recover Messages from iCloud backup

On the left, click on “Recover from iCloud”. Log in to you iCloud account.

Step 3 – Choose the backup file

Choose the backup file that you wish to extract Messages from.

Step 4 – Data types

Step 5 – Extract Messages
