Oil spill exercise successfully completed

Every year, ESVAGT and DONG hold a combined exercise to ensure that their oil spill contingency plans function as intended.

The exercise proved just that when the beach and waterfront of Børsmose Strand provided the backdrop to this year’s drill.

“We have built up a detailed routine for working and cooperating over many years of practise,” says Ole Ditlev Nielsen, Chief Commercial & Safety Officer:

“It is a very important area of activity for us and a good opportunity to ensure that the many colleagues that have been with us for many years share their experience with colleagues that have joined us since the last exercise was carried out. It is the optimal background for knowledge sharing, both internally and with our working partners,” he says.

The oil spill exercise is also used to ensure that the contact and cooperation with authorities works well. That was also a resounding success.
