Are you a trendsetter? Exodus introduces new and exclusive destinations for 2014

Leading adventure tour operator Exodus is giving travellers a chance to do something a little less ordinary this year. From sleeping in the rainforest canopy among the wildlife in Borneo to Olympic style bobsledding in Lillehammer, Exodus has launched a series of exclusive standout experiences for 2014/15.

Borneo canopy adventure – 16 days from £3,999 per person, including flights from London, accommodation, and all meals, departing on 2 and 9 February, and 9 March 2014

Fancy climbing the tallest rainforest on Earth, sleeping in a hammock at the top of the canopy, and waking up to see orang-utans and apes swinging through the treetops next to you? Available only through Exodus, this revolutionary new wildlife holiday in Borneo takes travellers into the heart of the rainforest, where they will literally ‘learn the ropes’ of how to ascend into the canopy (no climbing skills required) with the experts who assisted the BBC Planet Earth production team. Once trained up, travellers will enjoy the experience of a lifetime – spending the night in the canopy.

Cape Argus Pick N Pay Cycle Tour – 11 days from £2,399, including flights, departing on 1 March 2014

Lycra lovers unite! Exodus is offering serious cyclists the chance to take part in the world’s largest timed cyclo-sportive event, a 109km cycling race down the Cape Peninsula from Cape Town in South Africa. Starting off with a tour of the Cape’s renowned wineries, the Karoo and spectacular whale route, with an optional ride before race day (9 March 2014). Experience the stunning Cape Peninsula on this exciting cycling holiday.

Lillehammer Bobsled Weekend – 4 days from £999 per person, including flights from London, accommodation, breakfasts and activities, departing on 21 February 2014

At the Hunderfossen Olympic Park in Lillehammer, Norway, travellers on Exodus’ brand new winter activity holiday get the chance to emulate their heroes on genuine Olympic bobsleds. The weekend starts with bob-rafting (a standard box-shaped bobsled), a chance to test your metal at speeds of up to 80km per hour, before jumping into the official Olympics taxi-bob with a professional driver, which reaches speeds of 120 km/h and forces of almost 5-G. The very brave can even try the skeleton bob, a one-man sledge where daredevils lie (head facing downhill) on their stomach, nose just inches from the ground (optional).

Northern Namibia And Angola – 14 days from £3,699, including flights from London, accommodation and meals, next departing on 8 June 2014

This new adventure holiday through the far reaches of West and southern Africa is a world first, taking pioneers (or indeed anyone with an adventurous spirit) on an overland journey through remote northern Namibia into Angola. Flying into Namibia’s capital, Windhoek, travellers quickly head north, visiting an ancient Himba village in Opuwo, before crossing the border to Angola. Here travellers will experience a safari through Iona National Park, the Skeleton Coast, and the dramatic Tunda Vala escarpment, before heading back to Namibia’s Etosha National Park for game drives. In true expedition style, travellers will camp under the stars.

Discover Bangladesh – 15 days from £2,099 including flights from London, accommodation and breakfasts, next departing 5 April 2014

Another hot destination for 2014, this new cultural journey through Bangladesh takes travellers out of lively Dhaka, to explore the citadels of Bagerhat and lush tea plantations, with two days cruising through the mangroves of the Sundarban National Park for the chance to spot crocodiles, sea turtles and, if you’re lucky, Bengal tigers. Following a comprehensive loop of the whole country, travellers will experience first-hand Bangladesh’s warm hospitality, stopping at a Garo tribal village, one of the few remaining matrilineal societies in the world, where women inherit property and children take the clan title of their mothers.

Jordan Walking Weekend – 5 days from £999 including flights from London, accommodation and most meals, first departing 21 February 2014

For those short on time, Exodus’ new walking weekend in Jordan encompasses the very best for trekking in this alluring country. Following a float in the Dead Sea, delve deep into the heart of the Wadi Rum to enjoy a short trek through an incredible desert landscape, experiencing life with the Bedouin and sleeping under the stars. Culminating with a unforgettable walk around the rose-red city of Petra and time at the Red Sea, this short visit will surely live long in the memory.

Bears in the Alaskan Wilderness – 10 days from £5,999 per person, including flights, accommodation and most meals, departing 15 June and 3 August 2014

Travelling by float plane, this new wildlife holiday follows in the footsteps of the BBC’s Great Bear Stakeout, delving into the Alaskan wilderness. Staying at an eco-friendly camp in the heart of Katmai National Park protected by an electrified fence, this is bear country. The trip is led by an expert naturalist and wildlife photographer to ensure travellers get close to the bears, and with over 3,500 resident coastal brown bears and plenty of daylight in the summer months, encounters are rarely in short supply.
