How Businesses Sacrifice Jobs Posting Invoices

London, UK - Companies that continue to use post, instead of email, to send company documents are sacrificing thousands of jobs in the UK every year.

Thousands of companies across the UK continually send millions of documents each month by post that could just as easily have been sent electronically for free. The cost of this unnecessary postage is equivalent to thousands of jobs not being made available each year.

“Even though postal prices have spiralled by more than 50% in the last 5 years, companies continually fail to adapt to these price changes and this is now costing thousands of jobs across the UK every year”, says Fan Business Solutions Director, Neil de Villiers.

Sending 3000 documents by email, rather than post, every month could provide the budget to hire an office administrator. Similarly, 5000 documents sent by email rather than post could mean an additional salesperson or engineer.

In the past, document automation software, which automatically decides how and where to send documents, may have been prohibitively expensive, but advances in technology and more competition in the market has meant that this is no longer prohibitive. New software, such as Spindle Pro, is more affordable and some companies are paying for their initial investment within weeks.

These values don't even take into account additional hidden costs stationery, print or man-hour costs which could easily double these actual values. Neil de Villiers suggests that companies that redirecting costs from postage into additional skilled staff also benefit from a boost to their revenue.
