  • Job Type: Permanent

North Staffordshire CCG is responsible for healthcare in Newcastle-under-Lyme and Staffordshire Moorlands. They are an ambitious membership organisation comprising 33 GP practices, organised around 6 localities, serving a population of around 213,000 people with a budget of £270m. Collectively, the CCG works in partnership with their patients, partners and providers to put quality and patient experience at the centre of everything they do. They are committed to working collaboratively with partners to reflect the way our population lives, travels and accesses health and social care. A key part of their role is building relationships and responsive services that care for their patients. Working alongside clinical leaders and leading a membership-led organisation with growing public engagement means working differently. It is critical they communicate a clear vision for services based on the needs of the population. This means focusing on outcomes and always keeping the public at the centre of their plans.

The CCG is now at a pivotal point in its development as it moved from having a GP as a Clinical Accountable Officer, to now seeking to appoint an executive Accountable Officer who can lead them through the next stage of development. The Accountable Officer will provide strategic leadership and play a key role in shaping the future. There is a challenging agenda on which good progress is being made and a real opportunity to work with an enthusiastic Governing Board who is ambitious to improve the health of their local population.

You will be a senior executive with significant leadership experience and have the ability to quickly establish credibility amongst the CCG and partnership organisations across Staffordshire. You will be able to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, processing finely honed political skills and commercial acumen. Development and leading an executive team which are determined to strive for excellence will be important to you, as will ensuring that high standards of practice and probity are upheld in all the CCG’s work.

Application closing date is 12pm on 30th October

Preliminary interviews to be held on the week commencing 9th November
