With a budget of £427m and serving a registered population of 380,000, Leicester City Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is one of the leading CCGs in the country. They were one of only 8 CCGs in the first wave of 34 to achieve the highest level of authorisation and began life without any conditions being imposed. Since inception in 2013 the CCG has remained at the forefront of effective, innovative commissioning, providing a platform for high quality services.

They were one of the first CCGs to take on fully delegated commissioning of primary care services. They have established strong partnerships with their local partners in health and social care and are committed to delivering transformational change. This will enable them to address the significant financial challenges facing all NHS organisations but in addition to meet the specific needs of Leicester’s highly diverse and often disadvantaged population.

As a member of the CCG’s senior management team the post-holder will deliver the Group’s commissioning objectives. This will involve the planning, negotiation and performance management of acute health care contracts in order to achieve service reform and high quality, cost effective services.

As a highly credible and visible leader, the Associate Director of Acute Contracts will motivate, empower and support the Acute Contracts Team. They will ensure the highest standards of governance are adhered to and that service level agreements are met and contracts are managed within budget. They will establish productive working relationships both internally and externally to ensure the CCG goals are achieved.
