Key responsibilities will inclue:

• The strategic development of clinical staff;
• Ensuring high quality standards are delivered, fostering a culture which values continuing professional development and strives for excellence in the delivery of patient care;
• Assuring professional standards and practice in all aspects of nursing and midwifery practice are achieved within the Trust, including adherence to statutory regulations;
• Managing service governance responses including the relevant governance service lead;
• Key member of the site Management Team working closely with the General Manager and Clinical Director of their service playing a lead role in patient safety, improving the patients experience and clinical effectiveness;
• Play a significant role in developing and implementing the Trusts Quality improvement plan - Safe and Compassionate;
• Where appropriate, line manage the senior nurses and matron roles in their service area;
• Spend at least 20% of time in clinical practice.

A successful candidate will be:

• 5 years’ experience working in a senior nursing role
• Evidence of Post graduate education in speciality field;
• Masters level education MSc or degree equivalent in related subject;
• First Level register nurse.
