Tŷ Hafan, the hospice for children in Wales, is one of the UK's leading paediatric palliative care charities. Their hospice and head office are located in tranquil surroundings in the Vale of Glamorgan, a short distance from Cardiff.

Their aim is to provide the highest standards of care, comfort and support to life-limited children, young people and their families, delivered through a wide range of services in the hospice and within communities. Their income generating streams are extensive and include an expanding network of 31 retail stores and the largest society lottery in Wales. Their business and services are delivered by professional teams and an extensive network of volunteers.

Tŷ Hafan now seek to appoint a new Chief Executive and invite applications from prospective candidates with the gravitas to establish themselves as the principal ambassador for the charity and as a champion of children's palliative care. They are committed to appointing a charismatic, progressive leader to take this highly regarded organisation forward as they seek to deliver their vision: 'A Wales where all children who may die in childhood live a fulfilling family life'.

The Chief Executive will develop an effective working relationship with the Board and provide exemplary leadership for an established executive team, their dedicated employees and volunteers, ensuring the delivery of the charity's strategic objectives. A team player, the preferred candidate will be open and engaging, fostering collaborative relationships with external stakeholders on a local, national and international level. He or she will also utilise the extensive experience of the trustees to ensure Tŷ Hafan continues to deliver the highest standard of free care and supports the delivery of holistic children's palliative services in Wales.

As a potential candidate you will have an accomplished track record of leadership at Board level, ideally in a regulated environment. You will be strategic and visionary, while also possessing strong commercial and financial acumen. With a passion for delivering services to the highest standards, you will be empathetic and caring, but also strong and resilient. An inspirational leader with excellent communication skills, you will operate with the highest levels of integrity, employing excellent professional judgement and evidencing an understanding of the charitable context in which they operate.
