Our featured job of the week is for the NHS Greater Huddersfield Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), a membership organisation made up of 37 GP practices serving a population of 243,000 with a budget of£326 million. The CCG is passionate about clinical leadership and ensuring that the patient voice informs their decisions. They now hold newly delegated powers to commission primary as well as secondary care and they are currently going through a public consultation on proposals for changes to hospital services.

Their strategy is to shift our focus and investment towards primary and community care, thus reducing reliance on hospital based services. They are a CCG committed to driving the development of integrated commissioning both within their council footprint and across the wider region. They believe this will allow them to not only face but deliver on the significant financial challenges facing the NHS.

As they embark on this exciting journey they are now looking to appoint a Chief Finance Officer (CFO) who will play an integral role as part of the executive team and enable them to deliver against this agenda. The CFO will ensure their CCG maintains financial balance during an increasingly pressurised period within the NHS. In addition to being the CCG’s finance lead, the CFO will also contribute to leadership across the wider organisation as Deputy to the Chief Officer.

As a suitable candidate you will possess the right balance of strategic vision and commercial acumen allowing you to take a big picture approach to long term strategy. You will be a strong communicator, able to build networks and partnerships both internally and across the health and social care system. In addition to all of this you will have a genuine passion for healthcare and a desire to see real and tangible improvements to services and patient outcomes across the region.
