Our featured job of the week is for an NHS Foundation Trust located in the East Midlands, who are looking to appoint a Director of Business Development to lead on the developing partnerships, acquisition of new business, services and contracts to support and develop the sustainability of the organisation.

The Trust is the county’s main provider of mental health and community health services. It operates across a spectrum of localities including through GP practices, patients own homes, residential facilities and specialist in-patient hospitals. It also provides healthcare services to a number of prisons. The Trust is dedicated to making a positive difference and to providing care with compassion. They deliver many of the NHS services that are provided outside of acute hospitals and in the community, including physical, mental health and speciality services.

Joining a well-established and successful executive team, you will take a lead role in the development of strategy alongside the other Executive Directors. Leading on business development through the creation of and fostering of strategic partnerships, including primary care, voluntary sector and private sector providers, you will ensure the Trust is at the forefront of developing and delivering impactful integrated models of healthcare.

You will be able to demonstrate a track record of using both your conceptual & practical knowledge and experience to enable successful partnership development. You will have excellent business acumen, inspirational leadership and excellent communication skills to inspire confidence in others. Just as importantly we wish to appoint someone who lives and breathes the Trust's values of placing patients first, demonstrating respect, dignity and compassion, working to improve health and wellbeing, and dedicated to delivering high quality care within an environment in which equality counts.

Whether from the NHS, private, voluntary or wider public sector, you will have an understanding of strategic commercial and business development planning as well as being able to evidence your ability to understand complex contracting and procurement processes. The trust expects to appoint someone who shares their ambitious vision for transformation, and can point to a track record of having personally developed strategic business alliances and partnerships.
